Celeste Simpson of Impress Me Designs has been designing invitations and stationery for over 12 years. The things that most influence her designs are textiles, fashion, fabrics and patterns.

Describe your most creative invitation design.

For a Masquerade wedding, I designed an intricate laser cut mask that wraps around the invitation. Another was an invitation designed for the horse races complete with custom monogram and a horse, of course!

Describe your most sophisticated invitation design.

My most sophisticated design featured Silk Japanese paper with bright white threads in a floral design with a satin ribbon sash and crystal buckle all tucked into a silver box with tissue and feather accent.

Describe your most bejeweled invitation design.

The most bejeweled design is an intricately laser cut medallion with a gate-fold opening. 2 finely shaped Swarovski pearl and crystal buttons plus a total of 16 Swarovski crystals encircle the gate panels. A custom monogram was designed and the medallion is repeated and engraved in silver metallic.

What additional products do you make to coordinate with your invitations?

Anything to do with paper we can create. Our most popular items are items for the receptions such as ceremony programs, seating cards or scrolls (boards), menus, table numbers, and of course thank you notes for the couple to send out to guests after the wedding.

What are some of the things to know when ordering custom invitations?

Sooner is better. Every magazine or online blog states to order invitations at 6 months. If you're going custom, earlier is better. At least 8-10 months ahead of time is best so materials can be sourced and just the details can be incorporated into the design. I also encourage couples to establish a Pinterest board so we can share inspiration and understand the client's tastes and style.

Where have your designs been featured?

Our designs have been featured on the Luxurious Wedding Style Reports many times, Grace Ormonde magazine has featured a number of weddings where I designed the invites and stationery. My designs are in the book and on the cover of the coffee table book The Art of Celebration New England; Mountainside Bride, NH Bride, WellWed Magazine; Lakes Region Bride; Monadnock Living Magazine; Wedding Invite Love, Style Me Pretty and Luxurious Wedding Adornments & Accessories Magazine.

I also had the privilege of working with Presidential candidate Governor Mitt Romney during last year's Presidential race and designed the invitations for 4 separate private fund raising events. And I just finished a project for news anchor Dr. JC Hayward of Washington, DC.

Spanish Theme Invitation Design

Celeste Simpson of Impress Me Designs artistically conceptualized this creative Spanish style wedding invitation suite and the matching stationery details.


The wedding was held at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado where Studio JK Photography captured their stunning backdrop of ornate wrought iron gates, Spanish ceramic tiles and lace patterns which inspired the invitation and reception stationery design.

Impress Me Designs created everything from the save the dates, wedding invitations, welcome newspapers, menu, escort cards, drink stirrers and beverage coasters.

Guest Cards: A lace pattern was laser cut from matching card stock to mimic the medallions found on the invitation inserts to create the tented seating cards. The table number was positioned inside the monogram motif.

Menu: A garnet red backdrop with gold lace medallions and lettering adorned the dinner menu.

Drink Stirrers and Beverage Coasters:
The Drink stirrers were made of wood with the word Salud! Imprinted on each one, which means “to health” in Spanish and is often used when toasting.

The scroll pattern from the laser cut invitation was repeated on the coaster in a deep orange with the couples initial in the center.

Safari At The Zoo Passport Invitation

To celebrate a 5th Birthday, Metro Luxe Events Candice Vallone orchestrated an exciting day for family and friends at the Detroit Zoological Society in Michigan. Metro Luxe Events Candice Vallone wanted to capture the true spirit of the day in the invitation.

Using the talents of Celeste Simpson of Impress Me Designs a day at the Zoo Safari Passport invitation was created.

The Safari Zoo Passport Invitation by Impress Me Designs developed into a 6 page booklet bound in natural raffia with an outside cover made from cream heavy canvas.

The inside of the passport booklet was printed on a natural desert colored paper and the corners of each page were individually rounded. To give the look and feel of a true passport. Impress Me Designs used natural elements and earth tone colors to mimic the feel and textures one might find on safari in Africa.

Each animal was accentuated by matching "flocked" papers outlining the borders of each page with patterns representative of the Zebra, Giraffe and Cheetah. Texture was an important element designed to bring each animal to life. The animals and details were printed in a dramatic black to jump out at you.

To bring more interest to the background, different passport destination stamps were subtly watermarked into the paper. No detail was overlooked. Even the return address had a rhinoceros making an appearance. The envelope was sent with a custom postage stamp designed to compliment the safari theme.

Tartan Plaid Wedding Invitation

Tartan patterns, such as the British luxury tartan pattern made famous by Burberry of London, can be found on trenchcoats, handbags and accessories. And now Luxurious Wedding Invitation Designer, Celeste Simpson of Impress Me Designs, pays tribute to the panache of the tartan plaid.

Using an imported tartan fabric from Scotland, Impress Me Designs has create a couture and bespoke wedding invitation for a bride so enamored with Burberry that she longed to have the Burberry plaid incorporated into her winter wedding at the historic Lord Thompson Manor in Connecticut. The bride wanted the wedding reception to be decked out in tartan plaid and even the groom and the groomsmen to be resplendently attired in Burberry plaid accessories.

For this Tartan Plaid Wedding Invitation, Impress Me Designs applied the tartan plaid fabric as a backdrop to frame the elegant letterpress invitation printed with the matching colours of champagne, burgundy and black. A black pocket coverlet was used to shelter and hold all the invitation elements. The personalized closure for the coverlet was an Impress Me Designs' custom made button covered with the tartan fabric. Each button sported a monogram and was accented with a single Swarvoski crystal then wrapped with lush burgundy and black ribbon ties.

Custom Made Cameo Brooch Of Pet Adds A Personal Touch To A Country Wedding Invitation

For a bride and groom who were to be married at the private estate of the bride's parents on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, Celeste Simpson of Impress Me Designs created a very personal wedding invitation perfect for a country wedding in New England. The couples' black Labrador retriever "Winni", who was named after the lake, had to be a very important part of the wedding celebration. Impress Me Designs used a screened photo of the dog, Winni, jumping into the lake for the background of the the wedding invitation. The Aqua invitation enclosure was wrapped with a satin ribbon. The custom made Cameo with the image of Winni gracefully sits on top of the ribbon.
